About John Grund:

Began his golf career in Southern California.

An active Junior Golf career had him playing National and local events with a few victories along the way.

Always keen on improving I was fortunate to learn from some of Golf’s Legends:

Jerry Barber, Paul Runyan,  Johnny Revolta,, Jack Fleck and Eddie Merrins. I also include Gregg Mchatton and Jim Petralia as strong mentors on my path to playing and teaching the game more effectively.

As a competitor I feel fortunate to have competed in the 1981 US Amateur, 1977,78,79 and 1980 NCAA Championships’ as well as the 1987 US OPEN.

Other notable milestones as a competitor include several Leading money winner Titles on the Golden State Mini Tour, Player of the year Honors in Metro Chapter in Southern California. More recently John has twice qualified for the United States PGA Senior Club Professional Championship.

Competed in the South African, South Pacific and the Canadian Tours.

For several years John owned and operated GrundGuide and early pioneer in the Golf Course Graphic and Yardage marking business. Many of John’s designs and products are used around the world in making golf a better game today.

Because of John’s passion to help others improve their game, the company GrundGolf  was born. And with it the “Pocket Putting Mirror (trademark)”. This product instantly improves your ability to make more putts and is available on line and in major Golf outlets worldwide.

John Graduated from UCLA in 1981 with BA in Political Science.

John was the Assistant Golf Coach at UCLA in 1984-85.

John currently serves as Assistant Golf Coach at Dominican College and Branson School.

John has participated at several levels of service in the PGA.  He has been a Co-Chair Tournament Director and member of various Chapter Boards.

John participated as an Instructor in Project Hope. Serving our veterans to enjoy the game of Golf.
